As Galatians 6:9,10 reminds us, our heavenly Father desires us to create opportunities to "do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers." And God does not want us to "give up" or to "become weary" as we come alongside others in His family! Our growth-giving Father urges us to keep on 'sowing seeds of encouragement' which, of course, includes encouraging those Christ-following leaders He has brought into our lives.
Recently, I heard a song on our Christian radio station that was a penetrating reminder of how God wants to use us to encourage our leaders. As you read the words of that song below, prayerfully think about leaders in your sphere who may need encouragement and about how you can 'sow seeds' in their hearts. (And then, after reflecting on the words, you will see a question you are invited to respond to...and you can read the thoughts of others who posted before you!)
I’m the pastor at your church,
For all these years you’ve listened to my words.
You think I know all the answers.
But I’ve got doubts and questions too.
Behind this smile I’m really just like you--
Afraid and tired and insecure.
If you look me right in the eye,
Would you see the real me inside?
Would you take the time to...?
Tell me what I need to hear,
Tell me that I’m not forgotten.
Show me there’s a God
Who can be more than all I’ve ever wanted..
‘Cause right now I need a little hope,
I need to know that I’m not alone...

Here is a question to think about and possibly post a response in the comment space below:
Looking back on your own journey at a time when you were disheartened or discouraged...and to how God encouraged you through another Christ-follower...what did that person say or do that "sowed seeds of encouragement" in your heart?
